How to Find My Purpose

When I first speak with someone on a discovery call, we begin by exploring what’s going on for them and whether I’m the right person to support them. It’s also about feeling into whether our energies align to work together. If you're familiar with my own journey with EFT, you know that part is important to me.

Something quite interesting about that initial conversation is that people almost never call or book a session with just one thing to work on. Actually, it’s never.

We are human, and with that comes a web of emotions, experiences, and stories all layered together. Over time, this becomes the baggage we carry through life. Some people never unpack it. Others reach a point where they no longer want to carry it all and begin the process of sorting through it and decluttering.

And when that happens, it’s rarely just one topic. It’s many.

Why finding your purpose is never just one thing

There is often a tipping point. The moment that leads someone to search for support, perhaps late at night, typing how to find my purpose, how do I stop my anxiety naturally, or why can’t I sleep, into Google. But underneath that one question is always so much more.

Someone might reach out because they feel anxious about applying for a promotion. At the same time, they may be navigating relationship tension, scarcity patterns, imposter syndrome, or even a fear of going to the doctor. These can feel like separate issues, but they are deeply connected within the body and nervous system.

This is why I love working with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as tapping therapy). It allows us to gently unravel these layers and work with the whole person, not just one surface-level concern or symptom.

One theme that comes up again and again is purpose. It’s hardly ever THE reason people contact me, but it’s there as an add-on in the background.

It’s a question waiting to be answered. A desire for clarity, direction, and meaning.

So many people wonder, what’s my purpose in life?

And yet, we often treat it like something extra. Something we will get to one day when everything else is sorted. But when you think about it, purpose is deeply connected to how we experience life. It shapes our sense of fulfilment, our energy, and the way we move through each day.

A softer way to approach how to find your purpose

It can feel like a big question. A heavy one.

It’s not something you casually bring up on the school run or at a dinner party. It asks for space, reflection, and honesty. Things that can feel in short supply, especially in busy seasons of life.

But recently, I came across a quote from author James Clear that completely enhanced my perspective on purpose-seeking, making it so much more manageable:

“It’s rare to find your purpose for life, so instead look for your purpose for this season. What lights you up right now? What’s a good thing to dedicate this season of your life to? Perhaps more importantly, what purpose served you well in your previous season, but you have outgrown? Life is always changing. It’s okay to pick a new North Star.”

This feels like such a gentle and freeing way to approach purpose.

Instead of trying to solve your entire life in one moment as we’re often pressured to do, you simply ask, what feels meaningful right now?

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering how to find your purpose in life, this is a beautiful place to begin. Not with pressure, but with curiosity.

What might your purpose be in this season of your life?

It’s a powerful journaling prompt if you enjoy writing. And it’s also something we can explore together through tapping therapy. EFT is a gentle and effective way to clear emotional blocks, regulate your nervous system, and open up space for clarity and insight.

This is where tapping therapy can be especially powerful when exploring how to find your purpose, because it helps release the emotional layers that can keep you feeling stuck or unsure.

If you feel called to explore how to find your purpose and everything that comes with it, I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You can bring your whole suitcase with you.

We’ll unpack it together.
