EFT Doesn’t Work… Until It Does

The first time I tried EFT Tapping, I thought it didn’t work and honestly, I was a little confused by the whole thing.

But it kept showing up in my world and I began to take notice. I’d heard that this simple technique could release stress, anxiety, even deep patterns of trauma, and I became curious. So I gave it another go on YouTube. Still nothing. Then it came up again in a training I was taking and I experienced it in group sessions. Nothing shifted. Even though I was learning the method and understanding how it worked, I wasn’t feeling any shifts for myself.

So I decided to book a one-to-one session with a practitioner to get the full experience. Yet again, I walked away thinking, “What’s the big deal?” At that point I wrote it off as repeated underwhelm. EFT just didn’t work for me.

But here’s what I discovered later: EFT doesn’t always work until it does.

The turning point for me was realising that EFT is as much about the connection as it is about the process. It wasn’t that the technique didn’t work, it was that I hadn’t yet found the right way for me.

When I finally experienced EFT with someone who could really see me, who could hold space for my emotions and guide me with presence and care, everything shifted. The tapping became more than just a sequence of points on my face and body. It became a doorway. A way of releasing the weight I had been carrying, calming my nervous system, and uncovering parts of myself I hadn’t been able to access before.

That was the moment it clicked. Suddenly EFT wasn’t just a technique, it was a profound tool for healing and transformation. And I was hooked.

Now, as an accredited certified EFT practitioner, I get to support others through that same journey. I’ve seen clients move past deep-rooted fears of abandonment they thought they would never overcome, release long-held beliefs of not being worthy that kept them stuck for years, and step into new freedom and self-love.

So if you’ve ever tried EFT and thought, “This doesn’t work,” you’re not alone. I’ve been there. But maybe it isn’t the tapping itself that’s the problem. Maybe you just haven’t found the right way in yet.

✨ If you’re curious to experience EFT with guidance that meets you where you are, I’d love to invite you to explore more with me here.

Because EFT doesn’t work… until it does. And when it does, it can change everything.
