EFT is a gentle and effective way to soften emotional patterns, release tension and return to yourself with more clarity and calm. I created this page to answer the questions people ask most often so you can understand how EFT works and whether it feels right for you. My intention is to help you feel informed, supported and safe as you explore this work. EFT is a beautiful practice that helps you reconnect to your own inner steadiness and opens the space for genuine healing.

What is EFT?

EFT is a mind body technique that uses light tapping on specific points to calm the nervous system and release emotional charge. It works by meeting whatever is present with honesty and compassion so the body can shift into a more regulated and grounded state.

EFT blends modern understanding of stress with the energetic pathways of the body. When we tap with presence and intention the emotional intensity softens and the mind becomes clearer and more spacious. It really is that easy!

How does EFT work in the body?

Tapping sends gentle calming signals to the brain which help interrupt old stress loops. This supports emotional regulation and helps the body return to its natural balance.

The points used in EFT speak to the nervous system and the emotional centres of the brain. As these soften the energy in the body begins to move more freely which brings relief and a sense of inner reset.

What happens during an EFT session?

In a session we begin with whatever feels present for you. We name the thoughts or emotions that are active and tap gently through the points while staying connected to your experience. The process is guided, grounded and intuitive. You do not need to prepare anything. You simply arrive as you are and we work with what shows up.

Is EFT safe?

Yes EFT is considered safe for most people and can be incredibly grounding. It is a gentle practice and we always go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Emotional release is a normal part of the process. Tears, yawns, sighs or a wave of softness are signs that the body is letting go and settling itself.

Can EFT make me feel emotional or tired?

Yes this is completely normal. Tapping moves energy and the body often responds through emotion or a natural drop in tension. Many people feel a sense of softness or clarity afterwards and the tiredness usually passes quickly.

This is simply your system reorganising itself after releasing stress.

Can EFT make things worse?

It is uncommon but strong emotions can surface when you tap on something important. This is not a sign of things getting worse. It is a sign that your system is finally ready to process something you have been carrying.

When this happens we move gently and with a lot of care. You are not alone in the process and it can be held safely.

What issues can EFT help with?

EFT can help quickly and effectively with nearly anything! That’s why I love it. People come to this practise for anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, self worth, low confidence, old stories, physical tension and past experiences that still hold weight in the body. It is incredibly supportive for people who feel stuck or disconnected from themselves.

How quickly does EFT work?

Some people feel relief straight away and others notice shifts unfolding over a few sessions. Everyone processes differently. Your body moves at the pace that is right for you.

EFT is not about forcing change. It is about allowing change so the transformation is real and lasting.

Will the feelings come back?

They can but usually with less intensity. EFT helps reduce the emotional charge so old patterns lose their grip. With continued work the roots of the issue soften until the pattern no longer feels like a truth you have to live inside.

This is where deeper change happens.

Do I need to say specific words?

The words we use in EFT are critical to this process. They are how your nervous system knows to release the experience. It’s also why generic YouTube videos on tapping can feel like they aren’t very effective. I guide you through everything so you do not need to remember phrases or get anything right. You bring the honesty and I support the process.

Can I tap without talking?

Yes. Silent tapping can still be calming and helpful. It is especially supportive when your mind feels busy or when you need a moment of grounding without going into detail.

Can children use EFT?

Yes. Children often respond beautifully to tapping because it is simple gentle and intuitive. It helps them regulate their emotions in a way that feels safe and playful. It can also be a very calming tool for older children having exam stress and worry.
